Christy’s background in landscape and design spans over 25 years of industry-related work experience. From her roots in Whistler, her career trajectory has carried her south and across the Lower Mainland.
Christy began her career in the maintenance, installation, construction, and design fields. She believes this broad experience has helped her to become a well-rounded design professional. Following her passion for plants, Christy became an ornamental horticulturist, exploring the amazing world of design and landscape architecture. She has worked in both small and mid-sized landscape architecture firms on a wide range of projects at all different scales, ranging from high-end residential homes to commercial, multi-family, open space, ski resort, and park projects. Christy regularly manages projects as a consultant, collaborating with planners, architects, engineers, and developers, as well as contractors, construction managers, and nursery suppliers. Over the last nine years, Christy has honed her technical skills in grading complex sites on mountainside developments in West Vancouver. Grading is now one of her favourite tasks: she loves piecing a site together to achieve a seamless transition between built structure and the surrounding landscape.
When she’s not figuring out the math on a tricky site, Christy is either enjoying the beauty of the Sea to Sky forests with her friends and family, or in her studio exploring the world of watercolour painting.
