Emily Nixon has pursued a career in landscape architecture driven by an appetite for new challenges and collaborations.
She has designed projects at all scales, from bespoke residential to multi-phase high density developments, public institutions, and city parks. With a background in sculpture, she has also specialized as a public art consultant within her practice, coordinating between project teams and local and international artists to enhance the public realm throughout the Lower Mainland.
A lifetime spent in the garden motivated her to focus on horticultural design for a few years as well, working with clients and procuring specimen plant materials for projects throughout North America. Through this, she has honed a keen eye for planting compositions and sensitivity to contexts and microclimate—qualities that distinguish her as a leading garden designer.
Regardless of budget or scale, Emily operates on the conviction that quality spaces can be built with a thoughtful response to context, strong communication with team members, and a commitment to detail.
