Samantha came to Landscape Architecture through her love for nature, design and technical problem solving. After completing her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture, she first specialized in playground and early childhood design. Working alongside experts and childhood educators, Samantha designed and projects managed playground and school projects across North America. In collaboration with the construction team at the design-build firm, she gained a greater appreciation for construction techniques that bring designs to life.
In 2019, Samantha moved to BC to be closer to the ocean and mountains. In her work with Prospect & Refuge, Samantha’s designs now center multi-family residential, industrial, and school sites. She has experience working on projects of a variety of scales and budgets, in coordination with client and consultant teams. Her favourite parts of the position include balancing the needs of varied stakeholders on school sites, the detailed nature designing landscapes over structural slab and finding unique newstormwater management solutions.
Samantha has passed all of her professional written exams and is in the process of finalizing her application for designation as a certified Landscape Architect. In her free time you can find Sam camping, hiking or climbing in the mountains, or swimming orkayaking in the ocean.
