Travis grew up in a dull suburb on the outskirts of Winnipeg where the streets had no sidewalks, fueling his passion for Urbanism at a young age. He became a maker of things, places, and experiences.
Travis’s started his career by creating a landscape design and maintenance company after completing his diploma in horticulture. The company evolved into a design/build practice while he earned his degree in landscape architecture at the University of Manitoba. What has followed is a very exciting and satisfying career working at progressive landscape architecture firms on the west coast over more than 10 years. This extensive experience brought him to work for Tianzishiji Construction Group in Beijing, China, where he contributed landscape design on large scale urban developments. Wanting to express a bit of Vancouverism, Travis designed the city’s first dog hotel, complete with its own rooftop dog park. He has continued to nurture this type of enthusiasm, working and collaborating with Jonathan Losee Ltd. intermittently over the last 7 years and building strong relationships along the way.
